fox and bunny

fox and bunny are sitting in a field. fox plucks a flower absently and says, ''bunny, where did my curiosity go? is it because i grew up?'' bunny says, ''no. false correlation. constant ambient misery just does that, i guess.'' [time passes] fox and bunny are lying on their bellies in a field. bunny's head is resting on their arms. fox is sitting up on his elbows. it seems he is unable to sleep. fox says, ''horrible to realize your entire identity is constructed out of comic pages.'' bunny, without opening their eyes, says, ''true, but it's better than nothing.'' fox seems to really consider this. he says, ''i never thought of it that way. wow. my life can have meaning after all!'' bunny, a little nonplussed, says, ''go to sleep, fox.'' [time passes] fox is hanging off of bunny's arm and crying, holding their arm tightly. he says, ''bunny, pleeeaaase play with me. i can't do anything without you. i've been trying to play alone for so long...'' bunny contemplates this, looking haggard. they think to themself, ''i guess it is my problem after all.'' they sigh, and turn to face fox, forcing themself to smile. ''what do you want to play?'' they ask as fox still clings to them, hanging off their neck. fox instantly perks up, his face lit up in surprise. bunny laughs a little internally at this. then fox turns away bashfully and mumbles, ''um!! i was hoping you had ideas...'' bunny's expression turns exhausted and they mutter, ''my idea is to go back to sleep.''

i'm trying to do something different. these characters are based off of characters i had when i was a teenager. they aren't really the same at all, though.
